Dr.
Gofreed is the Medical Director of Arlington
Sleep Medicine, Ltd. A home grown product, she was born
and raised in the DC area and has lived here her whole
life except for educational forays to Duke University,
where she obtained an undergraduate degree in psychology,
and to the University of Maryland Medical School where
she completed her MD degree in 1980. She did post graduate
residency training in Internal Medicine, followed by
fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the George
Washington University Medical Center. She has been actively
practicing medicine in Northern Virginia ever since.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary
Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine
and has earned the distinguished level of fellowship
of the American College of Physicians, The American
College of Chest Physicians, and The American Academy
of Sleep Medicine. From a very diversified practice
ranging from primary care to critical care, she became
especially interested in the diagnosis and management
of sleep disorders, and has devoted full time effort
to this exciting specialty since 2005. |
| She
brings to the field her special interest in breathing
disorders and methods of ventilatory support, now so important
in the management of sleep apnea, along with her concern
for the psychological well being of individuals, which
is what drew her to medicine from the beginning. In 2007,
she opened Arlington Sleep Medicine Ltd., devoted to state
of the art evaluation and treatment of all sleep disorders
in a comfortable, efficient and professional environment
with personalized service difficult to find in a corporate
“bigger is better” (for who?) world. She has
assembled a dedicated staff of sleep professionals to
provide the same exemplary care she has given to the community
since 1985 in a facility designed and built with special
attention to maximize patient comfort. |
